President Muhammadu Buhari will not be
spending this weekend at his Aso Rock
presidential villa, it has been gathered.
Pictured obtained by Sahara Reporters showed
the Nigerian leader going on board a plane out
of Abuja to his hometown in Katsina, northern
Nigeria, where he is expected to spend the
weekend.
The federal government has approved Tuesday
and Wednesday, July 5 and 6 for the
celebration of Eid-el-Fitr festival to end the
Ramadan fast annually observed by Muslim
faithful all over the world.
It is not unlikely that President Buhari has
decided to go to his Daura hometown to spend
the weekend, and may be expected back at the
federal capital territory to continue with official
duties after the weekend.

Nigerians will not be expecting their president
to travel outside the country anytime soon
since he only recently returned from a medical
trip to London, where he went to treat an ear
infection.

According to the president’s spokesperson,
Femi Adesina, Buhari has safely landed in
Daura and was received by Governor Aminu
Bello Masari as well as the Emir of Daura, HRH
Alhaji Faruk Umar Faruk.
